Rick provides services to mid-sized privately held companies and their owners including mergers and acquisitions (both sell-side and buy-side representation), the placement of senior and mezzanine debt, corporate divestiture, and strategic consulting centered on maximizing shareholder value and ownership transition.
Rick, a financial services professional for more than thirty-five years, is experienced in commercial banking, investment banking, corporate finance, and business management. Rick has negotiated the sale of middle-market closely held businesses; negotiated the purchase of businesses including the placement (both in the US and abroad) of senior and mezzanine debt needed to finance the acquisitions; negotiated debt restructuring and recapitalization and consulted for clients in many aspects of corporate finance and corporate governance.
In 2004 Rick formed Grey rock Partners, LLC. Prior to the formation of Grey Rock, Rick was Managing Director/ Mergers and Acquisitions, with Atlantic Management Company, Inc. Before joining Atlantic Management, Rick was Managing Director with Baldwin & Clarke Corporate Finance and Baldwin & Clarke Capital Markets, Inc. Prior to entering corporate finance Rick was President of Arlington Trust Company, a $1.4 billion commercial bank headquartered in northeastern Massachusetts.
Rick has served as a director of both private and publicly held companies, and as a trustee of several not-for-profit and higher education entities. Rick is currently Trustee Emeritus of Merrimack College and an Advisor to Merrimack’s Girard School of Business and International Commerce.
He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a BS in Business Administration and Finance and from Suffolk University with a MS in Business Administration.
