THE CFO CONNECTION WELCOMES JON STUMPF

Expands its Presence in New England

BOSTON, Massachusetts – July 18, 2013 – The CFO Connection has added Jon Stumpf to its growing team of part-time CFOs who serve companies with extensive financial and business management expertise. With more than twenty-five years of financial and business experience, Stumpf helps The CFO Connection expand its presence in New England.

The CFO Connection is a Boston-based firm that provides part-time CFO services to small and mid-sized companies in North and South America. The addition of Stumpf to the firm’s team comes as The CFO Connection ramps up operations to meet increased demand for innovative CFO services that deliver value at reasonable cost. The CFO Connection meets this market need through the part-time CFO model. This model pairs smaller organizations that cannot justify the expense of a full-time CFO with the expertise of seasoned CFOs who provide services on a permanent, part-time basis.

“Jon has done it all,” said Bob Thompson, founder and CEO of The CFO Connection. “He’s worked at the highest level in the corporate world, he’s launched start-ups, and he’s run his own business. This experience helps him to understand exactly what the customers of The CFO Connection are going through on a daily basis. He’s an excellent addition to our team.”

Jon spent a sizable segment of his career with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. There he worked his way up to Business Manager, Controller and eventually Vice President of Finance. During his tenure, he worked intimately with a team of top-level executives that were responsible for annual sales of approximately $250 million. He held direct accountability for and managed various aspects of the business – including business management, accounting, finance, and risk management/loss control for 160 locations in 15 states. Some of his accomplishments include increasing retail fleet size by 50%, cutting vehicle procurement expense by 12%, boosting leasing deliveries by 29%, and lowering vehicle repair costs by 30%.

Venturing out on his own in 2008, Jon launched a successful Visiting Angels franchise – building a team of 29 that provided home care to seniors. In addition, he was elected Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Town of Andover Massachusetts in 2011 where he has helped to reduce health insurance costs by 3.9% while securing a $2.5 million technology infrastructure appropriation and adding 34 new school employees.

“Growing a business takes financial acumen, great communication skills, and the ability to follow through on strategy,” Jon says. “With my experience in all of these areas, I can help companies realize their objectives for improving performance, satisfying more customers, and increasing profitability. I look forward to working with the customers of The CFO Connection throughout New England.”
