David Kurtz, CFO Southern California, Based in: Orange County
His extensive experiences include executive and financial management, strategic planning, business development, negotiations, and sale of the business. He has started, managed, grown and/or advised a number of entrepreneurial, turnaround and middle market businesses in the following industries: finance, media, real estate, consulting, automotive, paper, printing and education.
David has been a Chief Operations Officer for educational and printing businesses. After significantly growing the company, he directed and negotiated the sale of the fourth generation family business from a diverse group of shareholders to the employees. As a commercial banker with Bank of America, he gained experience in financial analysis and commercial lending. He began his career as an entrepreneur in financial services, building a company and then selling it to a competitor.
Recent entrepreneurial ventures include co-founding and serving as a managing partner of a consumer lending company that specializes in financing elective medical procedures. He also is co-owner and consultant to a content company that has produced multimedia presentations in several major languages.
As a consultant, David has helped business owners significantly increase sales, profits, cash flow and company valuation by applying best practices in the area of finance, accounting, sales and marketing. He has written business plans, raised capital and advised numerous companies. David has lead strategic planning as the COO and as an outside consultant for small and large companies.
David earned a BA degree in Economics with honors from the University of California at Davis. He has extensive executive education in the areas of M & A, Business Valuation, Entrepreneurship, Family Business, Strategic Planning and Leading a Growth Business.
